Sexing

Unfortunately, relying on physical appearance is not an accurate method of determining the sex of many birds. We can reliably tell you your bird’s sex by performing a simple blood test that will be sent out to a lab. In addition to testing for the determination of sex, we also offer two options of hormone therapy to help with some of the symptoms that arise when hormones are heightened during certain seasons, most commonly in the spring but not always. These symptoms can come in the form of mood change, nesting, regurgitation, biting of owners and sometimes plucking. If your bird is experiencing these symptoms, we recommend that you make an appointment.
